I’d gotten used to and acquainted with my home in The Ruins and now I wanted to get acquainted with my neighboring lands. As the sun was beginning to descend to the horizon I crossed out of my home into a land that was full of rocks and what not. There were a few clumps of grass here or there, but otherwise it was a bleak rocky landscape. I snorted in disgust as I continued farther into the terrain. More rocks, on top of more rocks on top of more rocks, then I saw something that gave me pause and brightened up my mood by a tiny bit.
In the middle of all the monotony was a beautiful sapphire lake. I picked up my pace and approached the shore of the lake, there was quite a bit of grass here. I started to graze on a little bit of it and then I turned my attention to the lake. I breathed deep of the air, it was sweet. I stepped into the water and sucked in a breath it was cold, but not horribly icy. I glanced back at my canvas and snorted. I needed a bath. I waded into the water and then I stopped when it reached my chest.
I let the water soak my entire body, and then holding my breath and flattening my towers I dove under the surface and then came back up, struggling just a little to find purchase for my daggers. When I had my feet back under me I walked out of the lake and rested a hind dagger and shook a little to dislodge the clinging crystalline droplets from my sorrel pelt. I tossed my dial and wickered softly to myself, for all its desolation, this area was quite gorgeous. I allowed my guard to fall just a little and listened around me, making sure no one would catch me off guard.
